Just saw recently-acquired/recalled defenseman Dylan Reese arrive at Phillips Arena. Reese, who the Islanders obtained in exchange for center Greg Moore earlier this week, will replace an injured Andrew MacDonald tonight against Atlanta.

After blocking a shot during Tuesday's 5-3 win over Chicago, MacDonald is out 4-6 weeks (so this could potentially be a season-ending injury) with a fractured foot.

Reese knew at least one familiar face as he was greeted by defenseman Freddy Meyer, who played with him briefly in San Antonio.

No morning skate for the Islanders, just meetings. Will catch up with the Bridgeport blueliner soon and report back.

Worth noting is that the Islanders made a paper transaction yesterday, sending down (as of 3:45 p.m.) MacDonald, Dustin Kohn and Josh Bailey. Those three were all recalled as of 4:15. The move was made to provide them the opportunity to play in the playoffs for Bridgeport if the Islanders are out of playoff contention once the season ends.
