Henrik Lundqvist had the day off from practice today, as did Vinny Prospal.

As for the goalie, there is no thought that he needs to shake off the disappointment he expressed (in uncharacteristically strong language) after the overtime loss in Toronto Saturday. "He's the least of our worries," John Tortorella said. "I love his fire."

Sean Avery and Ryan Callahan also didn't practice. According to a tweet by Avery, they were on their way to do the platelet treatment that is becoming common for athletes trying to accelerate comebacks from injuries. Tortorella said "they're out" for tomorrow's game at Nassau Coliseum.

Also out will be Matt Gilroy. It will be his second straight game as a healthy scratch. Tortorella said "it's part of the process" for the rookie defenseman, who acknowledged he is working on his defense. Tortorella said no one promised Gilroy, or any other rookie, that they would play every game. He added that if someone struggles, Gilroy will be back in.
