Bettman: CBA talks starting in few weeks

The Commish, speaking here in Newark, says he doesn't understand the negative speculation and the degree of negativity in the media when CBA negotiations haven't started. Says league has been notified that PA is ready to begin discussions. CBA expires Sept. 15. 

NHLPA chief negotiator Donald Fehr concurs that talks will begin soon. Says "we don't have an atmosphere that presaged a conflict" as in 2004.
