By practicing Friday, Rangers avoided problems Saturday

The original plan was to have Friday as an off day, but noting the weather after the Rangers beat the Islanders 4-1 on Thursday, the brass moved Saturday's practice to Friday and today was an off day before Tampa arrives at the Garden Sunday.
We'll see if the long time off helps the 5-5 Blueshirts (it might help D Dan Girardi, who I wrote about yesterday, and who could play Sunday night)....
