Martin Biron (1-1-1, 2.50) will make his fourth start against Braden Holtby (9-7-0, 2.87) here at Verizon Center.

Brian Boyle goes back in after being a healthy scratch against the Islanders and Stu Bickel is out. D Matt Gilroy is in after not dressing for five games. Torts says he hopes Boyle comes through. "We're a better team" when he does, he said.

Gilroy is subbing for former Cap Roman Hamrlik, who Torts repeated today is not in shape for a cramped schedule of games.

Torts would prefer, as he said in the past, using JT Miller (who has "outplayed" Boyle) on the wing, noting this morning that he's looking for guys to play with the rookie.

We'll see some lines in warmups...
