Mats Zuccarello was back on ice with the Rangers here this morning, wearing his old No. 36 on his helmet, but will not play tonight.

The 25-year-old, who stayed late on ice for conditioning drills with Matt Gilroy and Darroll Powe, the other scratches against the Senators, said he was happy to be back, and was pleased with his stint in the KHL with Mettalurg Magnitogorsk, coached by Paul Maurice. "This is where I want to be," Zuccarello said. "I have a lot of friends here. When I heard there was interest, I was happy about that."  The left wing said he watched Rangers highlights from Russia and hoped he could get into the lineup as soon as possible.

Zuccarello, who is Norwegian, said he didn't mind the travel in Russia, and ate mostly chicken and potatoes.

As for the future, Zuccarello said his KHL contract was terminated and would again be an RFA after this season.

Tortorella did not comment on Zuccarello because he is not dressing, and avoided saying anything definitive about his availabilty for Saturday in Montreal.

Ben Bishop will be in net for the Senators....
