Biron (10-3-1, 2.17) also allowed three goals in his two prior starts, an OT win over Tampa and a loss to New Jersey. Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start tomorrow at the Garden against the Sabres.
After missing six games with an apparent concussion sustained on a high hit from Dominic Moore, Ruslan Fedotenko returns tonight. So Stu Bickel returns to defense, and Steve Eminger is a healthy scratch He has played six games since his return from a shoulder separation, but was on ice for just over eight minutes and no time in the third period in the 2-0 loss in Pittsburgh. Tortorella said he didn't like Anton Stralman's game either, but he's in.
Coach John Tortorella said the Rangers need a "harder mindset" and a good start against the Islanders, who have lost two straight.
"It needs to ratchet up again," he said. "We need to remind ourselves that teams are coming at us."
