Falk, 24, who was acquired from the Wild on June 30, agreed to a $975,000 deal and avoided arbitration.

It's the second RFA signing of the day....

The 6-5 Falk, a fourth round selection of the Wild in the 2007 draft, has played 108 NHL games and is 1-14-15 with 100 PIM...

He is the eighth defenseman under contract and expected to compete for a spot on the third pair or start the season in Hartford...

Falk played 36 games last season, averaging about 13 minutes per, but became available with the blossoming of rookie Jonas Brodin.
