Off to Ottawa: Hagelin, Carkner hearings today...

Carl Hagelin and Matt Carkner will have hearing with NHL Player Safety boss Brendan Shanahan.  Fines/suspensions likely.

With sereis tied at 1 and home ice swinging to Sens, not sure yet what Rangers do if Hagelin has to sit for Game 3.  Chris Kreider? John Scott, to help deter Sens running Marian Gaborik or Brad Richards in retailiation for the Hags hit on Alfredsson? A call-up?

Listen, the Sens wanted retribution after Game 1. wanted to get Rangers off their game. So they used their tough guys, got some bounces, and won. Carkner for Dubi in game misconducts was a good swap for them. Hagelin told nhl.com said there was no intent on Alfreddson, just finishing check. But Sens forward Zenon Konopka predicted more "blood and stitches".

Shanahan may try to send a message with the hearings and with Andrew Shaw's for his hit against the Coyotes. Anybody see the last seconds of Sharks/Blues? 88 minutes in penalties.
