Overnight Updates on Zuccarello, Fast, from Sweden

On Mats Zuccarello:  I can't confirm that a deal is done, think KHL has not signed off, but his agent tweets: "Will be glad for client Mats Zuccarello's sake that he will soon get to show NHL again how good he is."

The Norwegian Hobbit was 8-18-26 in 53 games over two seasons here, and played for Mettalurg Magnitogorsk; there's an out in his two-year deal. Supposedly working on that. The upside? He doesn't have to clear waivers, not expensive, presumably, and somebody's gotta help the PP and shootout when points are at a premium.

As for winger Jesper Fast, Swedish press reporting that Sweden wants him for World Juniors and only will allow him to play in AHL, not NHL, until April 15. Again, cannot confirm.  Will check for more info later...
