Projected lines for Traverse City
Assistant GMs Jeff Gorton and Jim Schoenfeld, head coach Alain Vigneault and associate coach Scott Arneil were among the observers as 24 Rangers prospects practiced at the MSG Training Center before flying to Michigan for the Traverse City tourney and tomorrow's first game against Carolina....
Pulled in late, caught up with Adam Graves and The Record's Andrew Gross, and managed to catch a few shifts/lines:
On D, one pair I noticed was Ryan Graves-Ben Fanelli.
With camp looming, no NY writers are headed to the tourney, and again, games are not being televised or streamed. Online staff is live tweeting and filing stories and video is being shot for highlight package.
A contingent of these prospects will be invited to camp, which opens with physicals and meetings a week from today, on Sept. 11.
Some in-season changes are being made also:
With Vigneault and most players living in Manhattan, the team's game-day practices will be at the Garden whenever possible, rather than at the training center, where they have been staged under the previous regime.
There's a shift on the media side, too.
For those of you who stopped by the Garden press box in Section 126 to say hello during intermissions, forget that this season. The media is being moved to one of the two sky bridges overlooking the ice. If the view is similar to Bell Centre, should be pretty cool. On the other hand, I sometimes miss sitting above the Zamboni entrance....
