Dan Lacroix, a former Rangers and Islanders winger, was officially named as an assistant to Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault.

Lacroix joins associate coach Scott Arniel, assistant Ulf Samuelsson and goalie coach Benoit Allaire.

Lacroix, 44, was an assistant with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the last three seasons. He also was an assistant with the Islanders for three years.

In 1987, Lacroix was a second-round draft pick (31st overall) of the Rangers and played in 188 games with the Rangers, Bruins, Oilers, Flyers, Oilers and Islanders during seven NHL seasons.
