Blue Notes

Steve Zipay takes you inside the locker room, home and on the road, with the New York Rangers, and also writes about the NHL, off and on the ice.

Ryan Callahan on ice in non-contact jersey

The captain is skating and even shooting a bit at the MSG Training Center this morning with his teammates. All but Dan Girardi are on the ice at the moment. Callahan was expected to be out 10 days to two weeks, so he's getting his legs in shape.

Chris Kreider (ankle) started out in a blue jersey, along with the No. 1 line of Nash-Richards-Gaborik; other lines seem the same. Kreider then switched to yellow about 20 minutes into the practice, so he won't be in against Devils tomorrow. Stu Bickel in forward jersey again...

Told it is a maintenance (rest) day for D Dan Girardi...
