Ryan Clowe says 'good chance' he'll play in Game 4
Ryane Clowe, who skated in an optional practice this morning at MSG, said afterward that "there's a good chance I'll play" in Game 4 tonight against the Capitals.
With the Rangers trailing 2-1 in the series, Clowe, with his tenacity and playoff experience, would provide another piece to the puzzle if the Blueshirts are to extend the series to a sixth game back here on Sunday.
Clowe, who took contact in practice on Tuesday for the first time since he was kayoed by Carolina's Bobby Sanguinetti on April 25, the next-to-last game of the regular season, said he felt good yesterday and today. It is believed he sustained a concussion and leg injury on the hit, but the team does not disclose details on injuries.
The 6-2 left wing was 3-5-8 in 12 games since being acquired from San Jose on April 2. He is 18-27-45 in 68 career playoff games.
Although it is not official, Clowe would replace Darroll Powe, who was knocked woozy in a collision with Joel Ward in Game 3 and did not return to action. He did not skate yesterday or today. At the morning skate. no other extra forwards from the taxi squad---such as Chris Kredier or Kris Newbury---skated, so unless Clowe has a setback this afternoon, he seemes like a lock to be in, probably on a third line and perhaps on the power play. we'll know more in warmups
