Season almost 1/4 over already...

En route to the morning skate soon.

We should know something about Dan Girardi's availability for tonight against the Lightning. But coach John Tortorella won't be available until before the game, so....

The season is whizzing by.....would be the 21-game mark, not 12, with a full, non-locked out campaign.

Rangers currently sit a point below the playoff cut in the East.

But after Sunday night's games, yes tonight's games, Rangers will have played just 11. Buffalo and Pittsburgh will have played 13, the Devils 12 and Tampa 11, so there is ground to be made up. Rangers face Boston on Tuesday, then return for three more home games.

Note: Blueshirts have won two in a row just once so far: 5-2 over Leafs, then 2-1 over Flyers, both at MSG 1/26 and 1/29.

In today's Insider, the crack research team at Chez Zipay missed one. Derek Stepan's first NHL goal came in Buffalo, not Tampa.  Snowblindness. I put myself on waivers, but cleared.
