If you're in the Rangers locker room, the odds are good that you will see Martin Biron patiently wrapping or unwrapping his skates with yards and yards of clear tape.

How much has he used in his 15-year NHL career? He took a writer's notebook the other day, did the math, and estimated: 30 miles, counting practices and games.

"I first saw [Toronto goalie] Felix Potvin with it when I first came up as a junior," Biron said, "and decided to try it. I liked the support and started researching the different tapes. I found six or eight brands, and eventually whittled it down to two."
