Derick Brassard's status uncertain; more updates from NYR practice

GREENBURGH, N.Y -- Two days before the start of the first-round series against the Philadelphia Flyers, Rangers center Derick Brassard may not be 100 percent healthy for Game 1.

After about 40 minutes of practice, Brassard left the ice limping and holding his lower back and was not available to the media afterward.

Union's Mat Bodie, Rangers agree on deal

Defenseman Mat Bodie, who was captain of the NCAA champion Union College Dutchmen, has agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with the Rangers. An official announcement is expected later today.

Bodie, a 24-year-old Manitoba native, had eight goals and 31 assists in 40 games this season.

When the Rangers return to practice Tuesday, they will have a familiar face on the ice: J.T. Miller, 21, who has been up and down all season.
