NYR hold on, 4-3 at MSG, to square series with Caps

It's on to Washington again. and perhaps a two-of-three.

Either team can win in six, but you get the feeling that this baby may go down to the wire. Somebody would have to win a game on the road.

Home has ruled so far, with the Rangers quick-strike goals in the third being just enough to scrape by the Capitals, who had erased a 2-0 lead with two of their won in the second.

If Lundqvist or Holtby can steal a game, that could be the difference.

Some quotes and stats that didn't get in the paper:

Rangers have 8 goals at home, one on the road. They've allowed six and home and four on the road....Tortorella: "Our secondary scoring has really helped us here in the last couple."

True: Mats Zuccarello has three assists and Taylor Pyatt two in the last two. Brad Richards scored. But Rick Nash hasn't scored in four games and hasn't been all that impressive. Maybe he'll turn it up in Game 5 or 6.

Torts: "I thought tonight was a game of momentum swings." Yup. Surges by both teams.

Dan Girardi, who played 29:35,  leads the league in playoff blocked shots with 19.....Rangers PK now 10-12, and were 1 for 4 on the PP...Derick Brassard was given the Broadway Hat...

Ovechkin: "I think I really have to play better."

Coach Adam Oates: "Holts gave them a freebie. That's not what we want....It was two very close games. I don't think we got into the game early enough."

Rangers will skate at 11 (an optional) and fly at 1:30.  we'll see if Marc Staal is there....
