The Morning Skate: Substitute, Sean and Stats

                Me for him

                My coke for gin

Newsday's own maven, Mark Herrmann, is subbing for me today at the noon skate, where it will be fascinating to see where Sean Avery slots in. The second line? Third line? And what about the fallout from the Rozsival benching? Maybe just a tremor, not as big as Posada sitting in Game 2 in the New York sports world, but for Rangers fans, a move that earns the coach kudos for accountability. Let's see more of it.

              Stats over the first four...

Rangers are 25th on the PP, due to 0-for-9 start, but 3 for last 11. They are sixth on the PK at 85.7, plus a shortie....Goals per game? 3.5, eighth in the NHL....Lundqvist has a .917 GAA, which would be higher if not for the 90-foot oops....

            More later...
