Newport in the rear view, in NY and then later today, Dublin/Donegal, but here's the latest....

In a salary cap plus, C Todd White, 35, comes to Manhattan from Atlanta for Donald Brashear and Pat Rissmiller, who were slated for Hartford and were carrying a $2.4 mil hit. Brash's $1.4 (over 35 contract) would've counted anyway.  White, who has one year remaining on a four-year contract with a cap hit of  $2.375, could be useful down the middle, allowing someone like Chris Drury to skate on the wing. Or he could end up in Hartford, if necessary. White missed 17 games with injuries last season. Brash reportedly will be waived/bought out.
