Welcome to my season-ending DPP (Dollars Per Point). All statistics have to be viewed in context, especially in a team game like hockey and this is some simple data to show one version of bang for the buck, i.e., cap number.

                  Remember: This doesn’t account for time on ice or number of games played, when the points were scored, intangibles or roles.

                  For example, Marian Gaborik’s DPP is $87,209, yet he was the leading point-producer on the club.

                       But the chart's worth perusing as one element of relative value. Note the DPP for Prospal, Anisimov, Dubinsky, Christensen, Prust among forwards, compared with Drury and Jokinen. On D, compare Redden and Rozy to Del Zotto and Staal. And check out the very last guy…
