Belmont Stakes 2013

Hours before the 145th running of the Belmont Stakes, Belmont Park was drenched by remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea. Then the sky cleared, and the sand track started drying. Spectators in Elmont turned out in outrageous hats. And Palace Malice, a 13-1 shot, and jockey Mike Smith beat Kentucky Derby winner Orb, the favorite, and Preakness winner Oxbow.
