Newsday's Steve Matthews picks five winners at Belmont
Newsday's Steve Matthews finished the Belmont Park meeting with a flourish, selecting five winners on Sunday's nine-race card.
Matthews' winners were Sunlover ($14.40) in the first; Gritty Gal, his best bet ($13.60) and double ($78.60), in the second; Corporate Culture ($3.70) and trifecta ($34.80) in the fifth; Notacatbutallama ($3.30) in the sixth; and Mariel N Kathy ($17.40) in the eighth.
Matthews finished the Belmont season with a 110-339 record and earned $514.00 in winnings.
