The 144th running of the Belmont Stakes, which carries a $1 million purse, is the 11th of 13 races Saturday at Belmont Park.

Admission

General (grandstand) admission is $10; clubhouse admission is $20. Both $10 and $20 tickets will be available Saturday, New York Racing Association officials said. General admission tickets, with an additional $1.75 fee, also can be purchased via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com under "Belmont Stakes Admission." Reserved seats are sold out.


Trains

The Long Island Rail Road is providing extra train service. Consult the Belmont Park schedule at mta.info/lirr, or contact the LIRR's Travel Information Center by calling 511, the New York State Travel Information Line, and saying "Long Island Rail Road."

Only Belmont Park tickets will be accepted for train service to and from Belmont Park. Tickets will not be sold onboard trains; buy round-trip tickets in advance at LIRR ticket windows or ticket machines. After the big race, wait times can range from 15 minutes to 2 hours.


Driving directions

From east of Belmont

Take the Northern State Parkway or Long Island Expressway west to the Cross Island Parkway, then the parkway south to Exit 26D. Or, take the Southern State Parkway west to the Cross Island, then the parkway north to Exit 26D.

From west of Belmont

Take the Grand Central Parkway east to the Cross Island Parkway, then the parkway south to Exit 26D. Or, take the Belt Parkway east to the Cross Island, then the parkway north to Exit 26D.


Parking

Gates open at 8:15 a.m. General parking is $10. Preferred (Silver, Red and Beige) parking is $25; Clubhouse (Gold and Orange) is $40. After 6 p.m., expect to walk to your vehicle parked on or off Belmont Park grounds.


Shuttle service for Elmont and Floral Park residents

From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., six courtesy shuttle buses will depart every 20 minutes from the clubhouse entrance. Shuttles will stop at each NICE Bus stop along their respective routes.

Floral Park shuttle will travel from Belmont Park north on Plainfield Avenue, west on Woodbine Court, with a scheduled stop at Atlantic Avenue Extension and Tulip Avenue, adjacent to Lion's Park. Then it will travel north on Tulip Avenue to Jericho Turnpike and head east, making a second stop at the NICE Bus stop in front of 90 Jericho Tpke. The bus will continue east on Jericho Turnpike and make its third and final stop at the NICE Bus stop at Floral Park Place and Floral Terrace. The bus then returns to Belmont Park.

Elmont shuttle will travel from Belmont Park south on Plainfield Avenue across Hempstead Turnpike and on to Elmont Road. It then will turn east at Dutch Broadway, north on Mecham Avenue and cross Hempstead Turnpike to continue on Covert Avenue. At Tulip Avenue, the bus turns west and returns to Belmont Park.
