There will be no Preakness for Vyjack, who finished 18th in the Kentucky Derby.

Trainer Rudy Rodriguez told Maryland Jockey Club officials Monday morning that the gelding will not be entered Wednesday for Saturday's race at Pimlico.

David Wilkenfeld, who grew up in Hewlett Harbor, owns Vyjack, who was 4-for-4 before finishing third April 6 in the Wood Memorial, his final Derby prep.

The withdrawal leaves nine likely entries -- Kentucky Derby winner Orb, Mylute, Departing, Oxbow, Goldencents, Itsmyluckyday, Will Take Charge, Titletown Five and Govenor Charlie. If nine run, it will be the smallest Preakness field since 2007, when Curlin beat eight opponents.
