Make it a hat trick for Lizards attackman Rob Pannell in 2013.

Pannell, the former Smithtown West and Cornell lacrosse star, was voted MLL Rookie of the Year after scoring 42 points (25 goals, 17 assists) and being named an all-star in his first season of professional lacrosse.

That honor followed an impressive final season at Cornell in which he set the NCAA's all-time career scoring record and also won the Tewaaraton Award as the nation's best college player.

A day after winning the Tewaaraton, Pannell made his MLL debut for the Lizards and scored . . . yep, a hat trick. It’s been that kind of a year for Pannell.
