Ducks to host tryouts for anthem, on-field host, and PA announcer

Get your singing voice ready -- the Ducks are hosting national anthem tryouts.

The Ducks and 106.1-FM WBLI are teaming up for their annual "Anthem Idol", a competition for one of six chances to sing the national anthem before a Ducks game this summer.

Tryouts are April 6 at Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip. Performances must be no longer than one minute and thirty seconds, performed a cappella and from memory. Representatives from the Ducks and WBLI will serve as judges.

On-field host and public address announcer tryouts will follow the national anthem auditions approximately three hours later. People who are interested in either opportunity can send an email to Jordan Schiff at
