For anyone who followed Major League Baseball in the 1990s, these numbers are shocking:

10,564 paid attendance in Cleveland

14,246 paid attendance in Toronto

On a Sunday afternoon!?

(The decline in Orioles attendance since the '90s also has been stunning, but mercifully  they were on the road this past weekend.)

Actually, these sorts of numbers would not have been all that surprising for some of the Yankees games I covered in the early 1990s.
