Sunday’s Dolphins-Seahawks game will open the seventh NFL season for Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts as a CBS team, a pairing popular among both critics and fans.

Fouts, a Hall of Fame quarterback, said he still gets a kick out of working with Eagle, who is known for his dry wit.

“With Ian there’s always something new,” Fouts said. “The challenge for me is to not necessarily keep up with him, but to stay within sight of him.

“He’s absolutely the perfect partner and I know that all his partners over the years have felt that way, so I feel lucky to have him.

“What we do is organic. That’s the word he likes to use to describe us. We play off each other. We listen to each other and the results are what they are . . . He’s a scream. I enjoy it.”
