Eric Shanks, a high-ranking DirecTV executive, was named president of Fox Sports Wednesday, at 38 becoming what is believed to be the youngest president ever of a broadcast network sports division.

Shanks will succeed Ed Goren, 65, who was named vice chairman.

Both Shanks and Goren will report to Fox Sports chairman David Hill.
