Mike Carey said he always has looked young for his age, but it was not until four years ago that most football fans became aware of the phenomenon.

Thank Brett Favre, who was caught in a video clip before a game Carey was to referee remarking on his youthful appearance for a then 61-year-old.

Since then both quarterback and referee have retired from the NFL, during which time Favre, 44, appears to have aged significantly while Carey, who turned 65 Sunday, looks as good as new.

"When I was 40 I looked like I was 12," said Carey, who this season will work for CBS as a rules analyst. "Now, it's nice."
