Jets-Dolphins are Monday regulars

The Jets’ overtime victory over the Dolphins in 2000 is one of the most memorable games in “Monday Night Football’’ history, a game the Jets won, 40-37, after trailing, 30-7.

(It will be recalled in a “Soundtracks’’ piece during ESPN’s pregame show Monday.)

The 2000 classic was but one of 11 meetings between the teams on MNF, a rivalry that Monday will move into a tie for third place among the most-played in the series’ history.

The Raiders and Broncos have met 16 times and Cowboys and Redskins 15. The Jets and Dolphins will join the Bears-Vikings rivalry with 12.

Here are the results of the previous 11 meetings:

2009 Dolphins, 31, Jets 27
2006 Jets 13, Dolphins 10
2004 Jets 41, Dolphins 14
2000 Jets 40, Dolphins 37 (OT)
