Producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo now are batting .333 on sports-themed Broadway shows, having enjoyed modest success with “Lombardi” then seeing “Magic/Bird’’ and now “Bronx Bombers’’ close after about a month.

Undaunted by my mostly negative review last week, the producers of "Bronx Bombers" announced Monday that the show would move to Broadway early next year, with previews starting Jan. 10 and an official opening Feb. 6 at Circle in the Square Theater.
The big roster move is a new set of actors playing Yogi and Carmen Berra - the husband-and-wife duo of Peter Scolari and Tracy Shayne.

“Bronx Bombers,’’ the latest from the sports-minded producers who brought you “Lombardi’’ and “Magic/Bird,’’ ends its off-Broadway run Saturday night and still is aiming for a Broadway premiere early in 2014.
