Shine Fights' pay-per-view event on Saturday night lost all of its luster several hours earlier.

Don King (yes, that Don King) won an injunction to prevent Ricardo Mayorga, a two-division boxing champion who is promoted by King inside the ring, from making his mixed martial arts debut in Fayetteville, N.C.

King's lawyers argued over the past two days in Broward (Fla.) County Circuit Court that Mayorga violated his contract with King when he signed to fight MMA with Shine. Judge Marc H. Gold ruled in King's favor just hours before Mayorga was set to fight Din Thomas in the main event.

A few hours after King put the kibosh on Mayorga's MMA debut, the North Carolina Athletic Commission delivered the knockout blow by canceling the entire card.
