GSP on the idea of ring rust
When Georges St-Pierre enters that octagon in Montreal on Nov. 17 for UFC 154, it will end an inactive streak of 586 days.
That's a significant amount of time for any fighter to be away from live action, let alone a prime physical specimen such as GSP.
In the days and weeks leading up to St-Pierre's welterweight title unification bout against interim champion Carlos Condit, such a layoff will generate frequent use of these two words "ring" and "rust."
Some fighters believe in it, some don't. Put St-Pierre in that latter group.
“I’m not a car," St-Pierre said. "I’m a fighter. That’s what I do every day. The feel of the octagon will be a long time, but I don’t care, I’m going to do it.”
