Jon Jones to heavyweight in 2014?
Why is that we never seem satisfied with greatness at the time when it is great?
It's hard to argue against Jon Jones being the best light heavyweight champion the UFC has seen, even if he is one title defense away from tying Tito Ortiz's UFC-record five in a row. Jones goes for No. 5 this Saturday against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 in Newark.
But many want to dream about what's next for the champion and which weight class he should really fight in, who he should fight next and what would happen if any of that did happen.
On Monday's media conference call, Jones was asked about his career, his legacy, that record and what's next.
Jones said he would like to tie Ortiz's record this Saturday and then break it "perhaps in November." (Hmmm, the upstate New York native and the 20th anniversary of UFC and Madison Square Garden, maybe?)
But after that?
"After that fight in November," Jones said, "entertaining superfights and heavyweight fights."
