Phil Davis forgot to look to his left
Phil Davis and Rashad Evans, the main event fighters this Saturday at UFC on Fox 2, spent the better portion of their microphone time Thursday launch barb after barb at one another.
Davis drew applause when he pulled out a Rick James quote from Dave Chappelle's famous mockumentary, "Cocaine's a hell of a drug."
Evans won the verbal jousting when he said, "Phil looking like Arsenio Hall and John Salley had a kid."
In between, they yapped about wrestling, with Evans saying Davis had "trash technique," and Davis bringing up the fact that he was a four-time All-American wrestler at Penn State.
Had Davis looked to his left, just two chairs down, he'd have seen Baldwin's Chris Weidman, a two-time All-American at Nassau Community College and a two-time All-American at Hofstra University.
Davis also would have seen in Weidman the guy who beat him in college by decision, 5-4, in a dual meet on Dec. 10, 2006. (Thanks to Hofstra for digging up that photo, and this one, too!)
