Round 3 with Costa Philippou

Serra-Longo fighter Costa Philippou, who lives in Bayside, talks about how his fight against Nick Ring at UFC 154 in November was canceled at the last minute and how that extended his training and nutrition regimen for his bout Dec. 29 against Tim Boetsch at UFC 155. Videojournalists: Mario Gonzalez, Mark La Monica (Dec. 11, 2012)

Costa Philippou fights Tim Boetsch at UFC 155 this Saturday, Dec. 29, just 42 days after he was last scheduled to fight.

But that bout at UFC 154 was canceled the morning of when his opponent, Nick Ring, was too sick to fight. That essentially turned Philippou's training camp for this Saturday into 13-14 weeks, give or take 3-4 days.

Here, in Round 3 of our pre-fight Philippou coverage, the Serra-Longo fighter from Bayside (by way of Massapequa by way of Merrick by way of Cyprus), talks about how he found out about the cancelation of his bout against Ring and what it has meant to his training and nutrition schedule.
