UFC 148 fight card 'stacked' and 'loaded'
To listen to the words and intonation of a fight promoter, or to read a publicist's press release is to learn that [insert fight card name here] is either "stacked" or "loaded" or in some instances both.
Don't blame them, though. Their jobs are to hype fights, sell tickets and pay-per-views and generate interest and income for their brand.
It is on the consumer to judge what is worth their time and dollar, and what is actually "stacked" or "loaded." But this UFC 148 fight card set for July 7 in Las Vegas appears to be quite explosive. Perhaps even, dare we say it, "stacked" and "loaded." Have a look at the fights scheduled so far:
Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen (middleweight title fight)
Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber (bantamweight title fight)
Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin (Ortiz's last fight before he retires)
Rich Frankin vs. Cung Le
Demian Maia vs. Dong Hyun Kim
That group includes two current champions and four former champions. And that is just the main card.
Here are the prelims scheduled as of now:
Renan Barao vs. Ivan Menjivar
Gleison Tibau vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Costa Phillipou vs. Riki Fukuda
Melvin Guillard vs. Fabricio Camoes
