The latest round of public commentary coming from Michael Bisping underscores the issue facing the next UFC middleweight champion, whoever that may be: if that person doesn't beat Anderson Silva, he'll never have the respect that comes with being a champion. Multiple MMA sites reported the ratings for the UFC 154 prelims on FX last Saturday as 980,000 viewers, which is eighth best for the dozen prelim shows on Fox's primary cable channel in 2012.
That's a significant amount of homes tuned into a channel to consume programming, but it is still six digits.

The talk of late has centered around a superfight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre. UFC president Dana White says it could happen in May at either Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, or a stadium in either Toronto or Brazil.

Long Island's Costa Philippou will not be fighting tonight at UFC 154 as originally planned.
His opponent, Nick Ring, fell ill after weigh-ins Friday evening in Montreal and was pulled from the card. With such a late-notice adjustment, there was no way to find a replacement to fight the middleweight Philippou.
