A report surfacing out of Brazil via Yahoo! Interactive Sport said Wednesday that UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva suffered a broken rib. (Here's the story, hopefully translated from Portuguese into English via Google.)
Silva's camp has emphatically denied the report to MMA Junkie and MMA Fighting, among others. UFC president Dana White did the same.

At UFC 159 last month in New Jersey, Gian Villante lost by technical decision when he was poked in the eye by Ovince St. Preux and the referee stopped the fight.

Renan Barao, the interim bantamweight champion while true champion Dominick Cruz has been sidelined with multiple knee injuries the past 18 months, is now injured and off the UFC 161 card in Winnipeg.
