Georges St-Pierre, the pseudo-retired former UFC welterweight champion, has something to look forward to now as he rehabs from a torn anterior cruciate ligament: starring in his next movie.
After a role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," St-Pierre is now set to star in a remake of the Jean Claude Van Damme 1989 classic "Kickboxer."
No, GSP won't be taking over JCVD's lead role....Read more »
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre left MMA fans in the lurch in the moments after his split-decision win at UFC 167 last month. After he won a split decision over Johny Hendricks, St-Pierre said he was stepping away from the sport for a while. He didn't say he was retiring. This Friday, perhaps we'll get the answer. He'll be doing an appearance in Montreal, UFC president Dana White said...Read more »
The UFC was one of the early pro sports leagues to integrate Twitter into its marketing and promoting of events and fighters. Many things go into determining how many followers a fighter has -- from performance in the cage, to engagement on Twitter, to sponsorship campaigns, to existing profile/status in the UFC, to at least a dozen other things. So here's a question: how much is a UFC win worth...Read more »
Jose Aldo hasn't lost a fight in eight years and yet the UFC featherweight champion from Brazil gets shown very little love as the best pound-for-pound fighter MMA fighter in the world. That's because of who's ahead of him. Heck, Aldo even lost out to anyone not already listed as an option. In our latest Fightin' Words reader poll, Jon Jones took the plurality of votes (a total of 1,835 were cast)...Read more »

Georges St-Pierre spent part of Friday morning on CNN's Starting Point show talking about his new book and how he was bullied as a kid. The UFC welterweight champion's book is a fascinating so far (follow the #GSPbook hashtag on my Twitter account for my thoughts as I read it.) GSP is looking pretty gangsta with that goatee and "long" hair, but hearing him, in his French accent, try to...Read more »
What do Benson Henderson, Georges St-Pierre and Jon Fitch have in common? None of those three fighters have finished an opponent in three or more years. What do Benson Henderson, Georges St-Pierre and Jon Fitch NOT have in common? Henderson is the only one of those fighters that MMA people don’t complain about always going the distance in fights. Interesting, isn’t it? There are reasons for this,...Read more »
Watch and enjoy the Nick Diaz UFC 158 post-fight interview on Fuel TV as he talks about retiring and getting a rematch with Georges St-Pierre in the same interview. I believe Ariel Helwani asked one question in the first three minutes and didn't need to do much else beyond hold the microphone.

Here you go, folks -- the UFC 158 interviews with Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre after Friday's weigh-ins. A few interesting things to note: -- Diaz sort of rambles on a bit, but avoids giving juicy quotes for use later on Twitter. -- Diaz may come across as aloof in the interview, but he actually is processing the questions asked and thinking about his answer. -- GSP is all business, with short...Read more »
