Jens "Little Evil" Pulver, one of the early pioneers of mixed martial arts, is still a crowd favorite even after losing five straight fights.  He's got the charisma and the everyman personality.

MMA fans lamented and writers penned soliloquies to Pulver's career when he lost his last fight by submission to Javier Vazquez at WEC 47 in March.

But Pulver is returning to the cage next month, albeit on a much smaller scale than we're used to seeing. Pulver, a former UFC lightweight champion, moves back up to 155 pounds to fight Diego Garijo at War at the Mainland on Aug. 14 in Irvine, Calif. It's a Powerhouse World Promotions event.

“I’m sick and tired of losing, even though I’m getting caught in submission holds, not getting beat up," Pulver said. "I’m only 34 and nobody is going to tell me I’m too old or when to stop. This is a crossroad fight for me, though. If I can’t fix these little things and keep losing, it’s time for me to hang it up.”
