Deividas Taurosevicius, the former Lithuanian national rugby team player now living in Copiague, has himself quite an opportunity this Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio. Typically, that's only reserved for afternoons filled with Buckeyes.

A solid performance and victory over LC Davis at WEC 47 and the 145-pounder gets tossed into the conversation of potential title contenders at featherweight. Taurosevicius (12-3) is 2-0 since joining the WEC, with decision wins over Mackens Semerzier and Javier Vazquez.

If he can get past Davis, then Taurosevicius' name gets bandied about with more well-known names such as Manny Gamburyan, Mike Brown and Leonard Garcia, all established featherweights.

"I'd love to fight him," Garcia told Fightin' Words two weeks ago at Ring of Combat in New Jersey. "He's a good wrestler, good jiu-jitsu and strong."

If both fighters win on Saturday -- Garcia fights former UFC lightweight George Roop -- then we could very well see that fight later this summer.
