Not only did Benson Henderson bring the fight to Nate Diaz, he brought the ratings to his company and its broadcast partner on Saturday night, as well.

Henderson's lightweight title defense headlined UFC on Fox 5, which earned a 2.8 overnight rating and a 5 share, according to the Nielsen numbers released by Fox on Sunday night. That means 3.4 million people watched the fights on Saturday night, up from 2.4 million for the previous two cards on Fox. (One ratings point equals 1.214 million viewers.)

The UFC on Fox also won the 18-49 market for the 8-10 p.m. time slot, as well, beating out "Frosty the Snowman" and "48 Hours" on CBS, "The Borrowers" on ABC and "The American Giving Awards" on NBC in preliminary ratings.

The share represents the percent of households using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time, meaning 5 percent of TV watchers Saturday night between 8-10 p.m. were watching the fights.

Of course, the full lineup of fights didn't hurt either. Also on the card was Alexander Gustafsson against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in a light heavyweight title eliminator bout, and Rory MacDonald against the popular BJ Penn.
