Robbie Lawler had little time to mount an offense against Josh Koscheck at UFC 157. But, he did make the most of it.

Being outgrappled by Koscheck for the first three-plus minutes of their welterweight bout, Lawler managed to get on top with about 1:20 left.

The grounded Koscheck was pinned up against the cage and Lawler, making his UFC return, landed a big left. That shot stunned Koscheck, and Lawler followed with six straight punches to force referee Herb Dean to stop the boutl

It looked like a premature stoppage by Dean, one of the best referees in MMA.

"I was raining down hard shots, and he was going to take a beating," said Lawler (20-9). "He wasn't coming back."

It's the second straight loss for Koscheck (19-7).
