Uriah Hall burst onto the scene with a pair on monstrous knockouts on the 17th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" only to fall short in the finale with a somewhat flat performance against Kelvin Gastelum.

Now, the Manhattan-based, Queens-raised, Jamaica-born MMA fighter gets another opportunity to show what he can do inside the octagon when he fights Nick Ring on Aug. 17 in Boston....

Directed by Peter Svatek and Kristian Manchester, "The DNA of GSP" promises to be a "look at the human being behind the legend."

A report surfacing out of Brazil via Yahoo! Interactive Sport said Wednesday that UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva suffered a broken rib. (Here's the story, hopefully translated from Portuguese into English via Google.)

Silva's camp has emphatically denied the report to MMA Junkie and MMA Fighting, among others. UFC president Dana White did the same.

At UFC 159 last month in New Jersey, Gian Villante lost by technical decision when he was poked in the eye by Ovince St. Preux and the referee stopped the fight.

Nick Newell has had nine professional MMA fights. He has won all nine, including eight in the first round.

He has done so without having a complete left arm.

Renan Barao, the interim bantamweight champion while true champion Dominick Cruz has been sidelined with multiple knee injuries the past 18 months, is now injured and off the UFC 161 card in Winnipeg.
