Chris Weidman up and running (sort of) day after knee surgery

Breakfast of champion, or a champion's breakfast? Either

UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman had both of his knees scoped on Tuesday night at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

On Wednesday, he was already up and lightly jogging at rehab.

Here's a little clip of a training session between UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman hitting pads with trainer Ray Longo one night this past week in Garden City.

It was produced by Weintraub Films, which has been documenting Weidman's camp for UFC 168.

That should be an interesting piece when it's completed and released.

At age 34, Urijah Faber is just days away from his fourth UFC fight of 2013. Not many fighters his age and with his pedigree stay that active, whether they are healthy or not.

The last time Faber fought four times in the same calendar year was 2007. He went 4-0 that year, all WEC featherweight title defenses, including a win over Dominick Cruz.

New EA Sports UFC trailer released, sort of

A new clip from EA Sports hit YouTube on Monday entitled "EA Sports UFC - Vision trailer."

It opens with a disclaimer slate that reads, "May Contain Content Inappropriate for Children."

What it should say is this: "May Not Contain Content From The Actual Game as the Word 'Trailer' Would Imply."

But that's too much copy for one screen in large font.

Here's a shocker: Rousimar Palhares submitted his opponent, Mike Pierce, by ankle lock at UFC Fight Night in Brazil on Wednesday.

But the question after the fight and again Thursday morning is this: Did Palhares hold the submission move too long after Pierce tapped 31 seconds into the fight?

UFC officials thought so and chose not to award Palhares the $50,000 submission of the night...
