Jaguars fans don't want Tim Tebow
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell made it clear that he doesn't want any part of Tim Tebow when he said Jan. 10, "I can't imagine a scenario where he'd be a Jaguar, even if he's released."
Well, now Tebow has been released, and a group of passionate fans have taken Caldwell's statement and made it their mantra.
The Bold City Brigade, a Jaguars fan club, was established in 1995, the Jags' inaugural NFL season. Their mission statement as it reads on their website: "Our focus is to engage and unite Jaguars followers from all walks of life, but particularly those who have grown with the franchise since its inception. Our long-term goal is to cultivate and grow our fanbase—locally, regionally, and nationally— through our mutual passion for team and city."
If anything will help them accomplish that, it's their newest creation: evenifhesreleased.com. It's a barebones site that simply has a clickable checkmark that asks fans whether or not they support what Caldwell said in January. As of 2:30 p.m., it had 92,942 "endorsements from real Jaguars fans that don't need Tim Tebow."
The Jaguars were the only other team besides the Jets who showed any interest in Tebow when they made a trade offer to Denver last year. So if the Jags don't want him now, where could he possibly end up?
