The Fedor Emelianenko-Brett Rogers bout in November and its 5 million-plus viewers was more than enough to make primetime MMA on a major broadcast network happen again. Strikeforce will return to primetime on CBS in April 2010, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed with Fightin' Words on Tuesday evening.

Sherdog and the LA Times first reported the news earlier Tuesday, citing sources within CBS.

Emelianenko and newly signed Dan Henderson are expected to fight on the card. Coker said in order for Emelianenko to be ready to fight in April, he has to fully heal from the hand surgery after his November fight. Opponents are to be determined, as is the date of the fight and its location. It's highly probable, though, that Henderson will fight Jake Shields for his middleweight title.

But, hey, at least we know to jot it down in the "Notes " field of our 2010 monthly planners. (Yeah, I still use one of those.)
